This is What I didn't want to See Today

Well, I didn't get to shooting the guns today as other things happened. The above picture is a Copperhead from the internet.. I didn't expect it next to the house and I only caught a quick glance , but I would bet money that is what I saw. I've only seen them around the pond, so I was caught off guard. I grabbed the shotgun, but he was behind the upstairs A/C unit and then disappeared. The house is built on a slab (you don't see basements here), so there isn't any way it should be able to get under the house, but it went somewhere. The chimney is enclosed and I think there must be a space under there. The people we bought the house from said that they had only seen one snake in 12 years. I've seen at least 8 since we've been here. I have a scabbard attached to the riding mower and I have a shotgun in the scabbard. It's a Mossberg shockwave and I'll see if i can find a picture for tomorrow. Anyway, I'll have to be a little more cautious around that side of the house. After all that, the string trimmer on wheels that I use decided that it didn't want to stay running. After trying some different things, I think the fuel filter/bowl is the problem. The engine was too hot to try and look at it, so I'll do that another day. It was 94 (in the shade) today and I felt it. Anyway, I did get some mowing done today. I have a DR. appointment tomorrow for my shoulder and then we have some friends coming over for karaoke on Tuesday. We have lunch and then sing. It's Sunday, so I'll stay out of the news today. It's too aggravating anyway. I got to message a friend that I was in the Army with today. It's his birthday, and we had a good chat. Thanks to all of the people who have subscribed to the site.
