This is the Mossberg Shockwave. It comes in 12 Ga, 20 Ga, and .410 bore. I just watched a video review about it and what a load of crap. The guy didn't like it at all. That's fine, but don't say it's useless. I think it's time to discuss gauge. There are 10 Ga, 12 Ga, 16 Ga, and 28 Ga shotgun shells. There are also .410 bore shells The Gauge designation means that if you made up lead balls the diameter of the bore, that many would equal a pound. So, 12 Ga means it takes 12 to make a pound, 20 takes 20, etc. The .410 bore shoots a shell approximately .410 in diameter. All these shells shoot pellets and slugs. Mine is in 12 Ga and I use the short shot shells (minishells) exclusively. Several companies make them. With an adapter, the Shockwave uses the minishells. The minishells keep the recoil down and the gun is easier to handle. Also, you can get 5 rounds of regular shells in the tube magazine, but 8 of the minishells. There is a laser sight you can install on the top and once the gun is sighted in, theoretically, you can shoot from the hip or the top of your head and hit the target, if the red dot is on it. Sighting in is the key to being able to do this. Sighting in so that the center of your pattern is where the red dot hits. I have a scabbard that is mounted to the side of my mower and the guns slips right in there. Always handy (when I remember it) for snakes and any two legged critters that might show up uninvited. This gun isn't for anyone. The action is rough (though it will smooth out some with use) and if you use full size shells the recoil is hard to control. It is one to consider. There are other full size shotguns that will work for defense and we'll look at them at a later date.
It is my opinion that schools need to reopen. Each school district needs to come up with a strategy that works for them. I've heard that there a lot of kids whose whereabouts aren't know. They're not doing school work on a computer, and of course not attending school. This isn't good for our society. It appears that teachers associations (unions) are stalling about returning to work. Some school boards don't want the kids to return. Parents need to stand up and demand an education for their kids.
It was in the 90s today and I didn't do much outside. However I did get to shoot the two Taurus G2s guns that we got recently. I can't say the triggers are great, but functioned just fine. I shot fmj and then some fmjfp and they worked just fine.
Okay, enough for today. Again, pay attention about what goes on around you.
Take care and be safe.
