A little news recap.. A woman tore down a mask display in a AZ Target store. She decided she needed to video it. Sounds like the video has been viewed 10,000,000 times. Anyway, she lost all of her clients for a business she owns and her husband filed for divorce. Of course, it's the fault of the pandemic.
Basically, here's a statement by Biden from 2008. When the stock market crashed, FDR got on the tv and talked to the people about it. One of the problems is the market crashed in 1929, and FDR wasn't president then. The other problem is tv wasn't around in 1929. This goes to show, that Biden's mental mistakes aren't new.
I think I'll let the news go for this post and talk about other things.
The picture is a set of grips for a gun that my wife has. The grips are a phenolic resin and were scrimshawed by a woman in GA. Some times you just want to fancy up your gun a bit. Changing the grips can not only make the gun look better, some grips may fit your hand better. These were made for a Ruger single action revolver by Reeder Custom Guns. Some other things were done to the gun to enhance it's performance.
Yesterday, I talked about cartridge wildcatting. An example is taking the 30-06 case and necking it down from .308 to .277. That became what we now know as the .270 Winchester. Taking the same case down to .257 is what is now the .25-06. Some times the shoulder angle is changed some from the wildcatter's design, but the basic design is still there. Over the years many cartridges have come about from wildcatting. Some have gone on the be factory cartridges and some are just memories. It is out of print, but the two volume set of P.O. Ackley books "Handbook For Shooters and Reloaders" has many wildcat cartridges listed that didn't make it. They even have some loading information on some of them. Gary Reeder has come out with around 50 proprietary cartridges. A look on his web sight (Reeder Custom Guns) will show you what he has done. The wildcatters are experimenters and I will admit that I don't really know why some cartridges were tried. There are many factory cartridges anymore and I think some of them aren't needed. They may have a new name and a different parent cartridge, but they just duplicate the ballistics of existing cartridges. The gun writers write them up and bingo they're the greatest thing ever invented. A writer that has been around a while has to write about something, I think they want new cartridges whether they really do anything different or not. I mean, how many times can you write about the .30-30 or the .30-06?
Now that I've bored every one enough for tonight. Remember, be careful and stay safe.
