The picture shows where the waterline from hurricane Katrina ended up. That was Aug 2005 and was a CAT 5. Laura is predicted to bs a CAT 3. Still, a lot of damage to the LA and TX border is predicted. It may make landfall at Lake Charles, LA and that is 230 miles west of us. We figure we will get rain, but maybe not the high winds. Weather channel was saying 40+ for our area. For my friends in WY, that is just a stiff breeze. However, it can do damage here and that is well below what it will be at landfall. They're calling for a 13 foot storm surge at landfall and that will do a lot of damage. We'll watch our creek down the road and see what happens. Our problem is that they are predicting that the storm will curve around north of us and dump a lot of rain. We are between that rain and the ocean it is headed towards.
Okay, I got a gun in today. It's a BB Tech, 9mm made in Austria. I'll have to shoot it, but I think it will be alright. More of a house size gun to me, but we'll find a place for it. The shop that does my transfers has been closing on Saturdays because of the shortage of guns and ammo. It may open this Saturday.
I read an article written towards the first time shooter. Describing different stances for shooting. I'll look at it some more and extract what I like and pass it on. I think the shooter needs to find the stance that fits them, but we'll discuss that more tomorrow.
I didn't watch any of the Republican convention today and I can't say anything about it. I know the Democrats have been bashing it and that's nothing new.
That's it for tonight. We should be fine concerning the storm.
Stay safe and take care. Especially, if I have any readers in the landfall area.
