I miss not having my tractor to help do things around here. In this picture the blade is on and the frontend loader is sitting behind the tractor. I learned to do a lot of things with the loader using a chain or straps. I miss the auger attachment also.

Anyway, I started building my shooting range backstop today. However, I changed my design and didn't have enough materials to finish it. So, a completion photo is still to come.

Shooting is using different muscles and one needs to practice to stay proficient. Most people don't live where they can have their own range and must rely on doing something different. There may be an outdoor range near you, or maybe an indoor range close by. I've shot on public outdoor ranges but, I haven't been to any modern indoor range. I have read there are some that will rent a gun to you and you can try out different makes and models. Either way, you need to practice. You don't have to use your higher cost carry ammo to do all of your practicing. You can use lower cost ammo, but remember you need to have your gun sighted in for your carry ammo. You'll need to shoot some of that to make sure the gun is sighted in and will function with that round. Before the ammo shortage, lower cost fmj was available and hopefully it will be again in the near future.

If you shoot a lot, reloading does help cut the cost down some, although you may spend just as much on components. But you should have more rounds to shoot. It depends on the components and you'll have to factor in the cost of the equipment over time. I never got into casting my own bullets and now, the cost for the equipment, is not cost effective for me. I have many cast bullets from different sources and they will last me for the rest of my shooting days. If you're new to the game and can afford it, look into reloading equipment. You don't have to have the top of the line stuff to start with. I have three presses mounted and two of them are single stage and one is a turret. They are considered old fashioned to some of the "experts", but they work just fine unless you need to reload large quantities at one time. If that is the case, you probably already have the equipment.

If you noticed, I stayed away from the news today. I figured we both needed a break from it.

So, stay safe and be careful.
