A picture of Sandy

It was an epic battle, nip and tuck all the way. However, Sandy managed to subdue the beast (luckily she had some tape with her). Yep, a MS gator. We haven't seen any in our pond yet. The nice weather rained yesterday, but it keeps things green. I saw a snake, from a distance, a couple of days ago. I'm sure the vibration from the mower made it move. By the shape and the color, I think it was a cotton mouth. Where it went into the weeds, drops down to a little gulley, ravine, or what ever you want to call it. It seems to stay wet down there most of the year. A good place to find a snake and a place that I can't find a good reason to go down in. It's our land, but I think it can take care of it's self. I had a raccoon run across the road in front of me Saturday. We don't see many critters here. Mostly squirrels and birds. An occasional dead opossum or armadillo. I don't think we've seen a deer since we've been here. And for all of the reported problems from wild hogs, we haven't seen them either. I forgot about seeing a turtle crossing the road every so often. We have a lot of turtles in the pond. We see egrets and herons about and they visit the pond now and then. Sandy is working on quilts right now, but she'll probably get out to her wood shop sometime today. I don't feel like getting in to the news today, so I'll close for today. Thanks to all of you that have stopped by to visit the site. Talk to you later and be safe.
